Warning! Hudson Valley man jumps out of ambulance
Authorities were looking for a local man who jumped out of an ambulance Wednesday afternoon, according to Mid Hudson News. But if some details are still a bit scarce, was it really a mistaken identity? Why did the 27-year-old Beacon man jump out of the emergency vehicle in the first place?
MHN said the man left the vehicle near the MidHudson Regional Hospital on Wednesday afternoon. Sources say the dispatcher told police to search for a man who jumped off the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge earlier today. But according to MHN, the man who jumped off the bridge and died was in his 50s. The man the police were looking for here is in his twenties, as previously mentioned.
Authorities had determined that the man who escaped from the ambulance in this story had voluntarily agreed to be in the hospital for a mental health assessment. Therefore, they could only ask him to go to the hospital. And since there were no court orders for him to be there, they actually couldn’t force him.
Meanwhile, in other news, police are investigating a disturbance in a Dunkin ‘Donuts area. Sources say a customer ordered white hot chocolate from the drive-thru at Dunkin ‘Donuts on Little Britain Road when everything went crazy. The customer told HV12 the manager got mean to them on the phone and told them this place didn’t have their specific order and there was already a sign saying they were out. HV12 says that when the customer complained further, the manager and a second employee physically assaulted her.
The client told sources that she had been punched a dozen times in the face, and had part of her body ripped off.
Sources say restaurant workers have yet to comment on the incident. The police are investigating and may lobby the workers as well as the customer.
