Lost Ark Abyssal Dungeon: Demonic Beast Canyon Guide

Need a hand with Lost Ark’s Demon Beast Canyon Abyssal Dungeon? Abyssal Dungeons are the main group content in Lost Ark’s endgame, featuring challenging boss mechanics that require teamwork and coordination. The first Abyssal Dungeon you’ll face at Level 1 is Demon Beast Canyon, available at item level 340. This dungeon is your introduction to more difficult four-player content, and while not as difficult as dungeons later, you’ll still need an understanding of the boss mechanics to take it on. If you and your party need a hand understanding Hideous Sarkril combat, this guide will help.

Lost Ark Demon Beast Canyon: Corrupted Vazuela Mechanics

Corrupted Vazuela is the first and easiest of the Abyssal Dungeon bosses, but challenging enough to give you a taste of what’s to come. While Corrupted Vazuela doesn’t have invincibility phases or “cleanse” mechanics that instantly kill your party, combat can get out of control if you don’t know the mechanics.

Throughout the fight, Vazuela will periodically mark a targeted player with a blue reticle before spitting a pool of blood at the target. This puddle will deal high damage over time to anyone who crosses it, so if you’re targeted, hug the edge of the arena to prevent the puddles from clogging the center.

Eventually, these puddles will cover more ground and make it difficult to navigate the arena. Luckily, when you stagger Corrupted Vazuela, all those blood pools will disappear. Below the boss’ health bar, you’ll see a purple “stagger bar” that empties when you deal damage. Clear it and you’ll stagger Corrupted Vazuela, clearing up puddles and creating a large DPS opening. If you don’t have skills with the High Stagger property, bring combat items like Whirlwind Grenades to help you out.

Lost Ark Demon Beast Canyon: Hideous Mechanics of Sarkril

Hideous Scarkril is the second and final boss in Demon Beast Canyon and introduces more complicated mechanics. After a bit of combat, Hideous Sarkril will enter stealth mode. In stealth mode, Sarkril uses a deadly teleport slash, takes heavily reduced damage, and only appears visible for short bursts.

When stealth mode begins, four golden orbs will spawn at the edges of the arena, which are immune to player damage. To end Sarkril’s stealth, you need to trick him into destroying orbs. Stand near an orb, then dodge when the teleport attack begins. If you positioned yourself correctly, the slash will destroy the orb. Take out all four and Sarkril will exit stealth so you can get back into the fight.

It will be much easier if you and your team work together, with everyone moving as a group from orb to orb. Any latecomers can pull Sarkril’s aggro away from the orbs, extending the stealth phase.

That’s all you need to take down the Demon Beast Canyon bosses! This first Abyssal Dungeon is just challenging enough to prepare you for what’s to come, and also has a few sweet drops in it. Get those Class Engravings set up with your Jewel Drops and you’ll be set for more challenging content. Once you’ve completed the first two dungeons and need to increase your item level, consider boosting another character with the Powerpass or Knowledge Transfer to help you gather upgrade materials. If you need a hand choosing your next character, our tier list might help.
