Haunted Kingdom to bewitch Kids Kingdom as fundraiser – the Madison Record

0

MADISON – During the last two weekends of October, the Haunted Kingdom will own the lands of Kids Kingdom. . . for a good cause.

Dublin Park’s spooky transformation at 8324 Old Madison Pike will raise funds for ‘Go Build a Kingdom’, the Kids Kingdom renovation project. In the process, children and their parents, as well as teenagers and anyone interested in a good-natured scare, can enjoy a fall outing in the “spirits” of Halloween.

Haunted Kingdom will be open to the public on October 23-23 and October 29-30 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. (to get everyone home before witch hour!). Everyone will pay $ 5 in donation for admission. All profits will be donated to Go Build a Kingdom.

“We are all very excited to see how much fun Haunted Kingdom will be for our community,” said Liz Brinton. Brinton is Executive Director of Madison Visionary Partners. “(The event) is important for raising funds to support the Go Build a Kingdom project.”

Classic Halloween characters, like (a safe version of) Dracula, Frankenstein, Werewolf, witches and ghosts, and a few surprises will roam the grounds. Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite costume to experience the otherworldly atmosphere.

An autumn wagon ride in the dark of night around the Dublin Park property will entertain guests of the Haunted Kingdom. Spooky dealerships will be available and food trucks will set up on site for tasty treats.

The Spooky Factor for Haunted Kingdom is rated 2/5 (with “5” as totally evil), so the event is perfect for young ghosts and goblins. All components of the event will be outside. Guests should respect social distancing.

Residents can volunteer and enjoy behind-the-scenes tours. Volunteer duties will include selling concessions, cooking / making homemade fall treats, assisting with hikes, crowd management, event planners, set-up / clean-up and creation of decorations. Tour guides will dress up in castle or medieval-themed costumes as knights, princesses, wizards, kings, dragons, fairies and elves.
